MRI of the brain requested 10 weeks post-injury because of the headache aggravation superimposed by diplopia. A Coronal T2-weighted MRI revealed a large arachnoid cyst in the left middle cranial fossa containing fluid of CSF intensity (brown asterisk) extending to subdural space(black asterisks).The membrane separating arachnoid cyst and the subdural hygroma is clearly obvious (yellow-filled arrows in the main image and inset). Note: For better delineation of the upper part of the cyst membrane, the inset has been artificially inverse-colored.
